Instead of letting their excess food go to waste, Chipotle Restaurants have decided to give back! Each Chipotle location in Fayetteville is a part of an initiative called the Harvest Program. This program is coordinated by Food Donation Connection, an organization that seeks to “expand their global network linking available sources of surplus food to those in need through existing charitable organizations”.

FOOD WASTE

According to the US Department of Agriculture, “Americans throw away more than 25 percent of the food we prepare, about 96 billion pounds of food waste each year.” 96 BILLION POUNDS.
Let’s put that into perspective.

So thank you, Chipotle, for choosing to make a difference and giving your food waste to those in need in our community!! In addition to their harvest donation, Chipotle on Dickson Street is sponsoring a proceeds night for The Salvation Army of Northwest Arkansas! Go grab a meal, tell them you love The Salvation Army, and they will donate 50% of the proceeds to our programs!!
